Birthstones are gemstones associated with each month of the year. Some people like to wear stones based on their zodiac sign as well, they are completely different and if you are an astrology geek like me you can even explore not only your sun sign but rising sign.
Here's a list of both traditional birthstones for each month and gemstones commonly associated with each zodiac sign:
Aries (March 21 - April 19):
Traditional Birthstone: Bloodstone
Zodiac Stone: Diamond, clear quartz
Taurus (April 20 - May 20):
Traditional Birthstone: Emerald
Zodiac Stone: Sapphire
Gemini (May 21 - June 20):
Traditional Birthstone: Pearl
Zodiac Stone: Agate
Cancer (June 21 - July 22):
Traditional Birthstone: Ruby
Zodiac Stone: Moonstone
Leo (July 23 - August 22):
Traditional Birthstone: Peridot
Zodiac Stone: Onyx
Virgo (August 23 - September 22):
Traditional Birthstone: Sapphire
Zodiac Stone: Carnelian

It's worth noting that while these associations exist, many people choose their birthstone or zodiac stone based on personal preference, aesthetics, or metaphysical beliefs rather than adhering strictly to tradition. Additionally, there can be variations in birthstone lists depending on cultural or regional differences.
